The Shifting of the Top classes

The Recent update on classes has shifted the way we look at the power of certain classes and allowed other classes to challenge the place of the so called top tier classes. 

Here is how I would rank the current meta

 

 

 

1. Wizard: With the release of the current Scribes, The wizard has successfully made a statement and  it has told every other class to bow to its power. Scribes wizard allows the shifting of elemental attacks and with the tenth level ability to create scrolls it is also extremely Viable. Its apex ability allows it a get out of jail free card at the cost of some spells for a period of time. Combine all of this with the power of the Blade of disaster and the wizard is Again topping the list.                              
2. Paladin: What can be said about the sheer power the Paladin is now bringing to the table? It is combining 2 of the biggest failings (mental saving throws plus advantage on initiative checks) make the once just great class now almost perfect for its current role. No true weakness and alot of damage plus auto-protection, yes the paladin has firmly placed itself in the number 2 role.                       
3. Cleric: While the Cleric is no longer the clear winner in terms of Divine casting (Druid can easily go here) it still rains supreme as the top for now. The Peace domain once again places the Cleric as a powerhouse while very subtlety flexing on support classes and pushing them to the side with its bonds ability.
                                          
4. Druid: I was so tempted to put this as the 3rd best with and it was only because of the new stars subclass. By passing the hard once per turn attack it is limited to the arrow druid can make a free radiant attack while the chalice is able to heal effectively for free as long as you are actively healing others. The dragon rounds it out with free flight and help on certain ability scores and concentration and it is clear the druid is once again top tier.
                                        
5. Warlock: What needs to be said of the king of Force damage. Eldritch Blast has been given a new friend in the form of a tentacle and with its limiting movement plus damage it allows the warlock to finally have bonus actions. The New Talisman also has something that allows free teleportation and protection for your allies and role play has gotten a lot more interesting. Pacts are here now.                   
6. Fighter: Boasting a impressive amount of attacks and a immense amount of upfront damage, the fighter is the class that most people gravitate to when they wish to talk about marshal classes. The reason why it is 6th on the list is unfortunately its vast amount of wasted potential in its sub-classes. With Samurai being the best subclass it is sub-optimal to take this class to max level.                           
7. Sorcerer: Alot of people will hate this but the sorcerer suffers greatly from its biggest issue. Having a massive spell list but a small amount of spells it can choose, this changes however with the awe-inspiring choice to give them spells from the subclass now. However it remains to be seen how great it will turn out, I have great faith in this class but it has yet to be given enough love.
8. Bard: Here is where I will be given a ton of hatred, but I will keep it simple. The bard is a great class as are everything in 5e, however a jack of trades that is a master of none simply falls behind. Sure things like Bardic inspiration is amazing but the class doesn't fill any one role well enough and in 5th edition it needs to pick something and do it the best. Case in point the lack of a true damaging Cantript is outright needed. Hence why almost all bards become warlocks.                                              
9. Barbarian: Ok so while I will still get a ton of hatred here I can actually justify my main reason. Spells. Simply put it doesn't learn magic, you can cut all damage in half that you want but if you cant stop a flying spell caster how will you deal with it? Another huge factor of my placement here is a simply one. 17 and up how will you deal with things like planeshift or banishment or even synaptic static? Look Barbarian fans we need to agree that this is a huge problem and until this is addressed you are a sitting duck against some of the most power creatures.                           
10. Monk: Ok so with the release of Tasha's Cauldron  the monk has recieved a massive buff in the form of Astral self and the way of Mercy but it still sits at the bottom of the barrel. The monk is a powerful melee attacker however it has a huge problem. Its hit dice is low. The monk has the same hit dice as a Warlock and with no armor you must take wisdom, dexerity and constitution making the class very mad at times. Besides that the other ways are just not that good.                            

Ranger: Finally the last class on this list is the Ranger. By god this class had the most potential and with the amount of love it got from Tasha's Cauldron with some of the biggest improvements. But my god they just want to keep this character on concentration almost every single one of the spells you want to keep is Concentration. I wanted this class to be good so badly. I wont go into this to much but keep a eye out for my next post where I talk about it. 

???Rogue: Ok so I didn't put this class on the list and that is for one simple problem. I haven't played one in forever. This list will be updated when I do.
